Igora Drive hosts emergency training exercises

On August 6, the Igora Drive autodrome hosted the first training exercises on interaction between the technical and medical services of the main circuit, to provide assistance to injured car pilots. The event was attended by representatives of the competition management center, EMERCOM crew, autodrome specialists and doctors of the SOGAZ MEDICINA Group of Clinics, including the new SOGAZ - Igora Drive medical center. All structures have jointly worked out the logistics and first aid techniques in an emergency case, when an immediate response is required in the competitive conditions on the track.

The exercises were successful and highly appreciated by the autodrome management. A complete working out of all the necessary actions, as well as an analysis of their results, allowed the autodrome employees and doctors to establish an effective interaction scheme in extreme situations and draw up a plan for further exercises, including using the capabilities of medical aviation.

The SOGAZ - Igora Drive Medical Center was opened at the autodrome in May 2020. The clinic is equipped with all the necessary equipment and is aimed primarily at carrying out mandatory pre-race examinations of pilots and providing emergency assistance to drivers who are injured in accidents on tracks.

Nevertheless, the acting Chief Physician of the SOGAZ - Igora Drive Medical Center, Igor Valerievich Frolov, noted that “the clinic's capabilities allow not only to provide emergency assistance to people involved in motorsport, but also to provide medical care for all guests and employees of the Igora Resort, as well as residents of the nearest settlements".

According to Igor Valerievich, Igora Drive medical center will actively develop such areas of medicine as therapy, gastroenterology, traumatology, ultrasound and functional diagnostics.
