Support for the Igora Drive complex from VTB Bank
VTB Bank became the owner of a 15% stake in the company implementing the project for the development of the Igora Drive Complex, a unique center for auto and motosports. The Main Circuit The complex is located on an area of 100 hectares, 54 km from St. Petersburg and includes 10 professional tracks: for circuit races, drift, rallycross, motocross, enduro cross, karting, supermoto and pair races, an off-road test track and a Safety Drive Center with a separate track.
“VTB Bank traditionally supports motor sports. For many years we have been cooperating with the Kamaz-Master team, we are the title sponsor of the Russian stage of FORMULA 1 in Sochi. Cooperation with Igora Drive became a logical continuation of this promoting the VTB brand. We will be able to share our accumulated expertise and experience in holding international competitions, which will contribute to the successful development of the new complex”, said Viktor Lukyanov, Senior Vice President of VTB Bank.
Construction of the Igora Drive Complex was completed at the end of 2019. It has become the most modern and multifunctional center for technical sports not only in Russia, but also on the world stage. The author of the project is German track designer Hermann Tilke, the creator of all modern Formula 1 racetracks since 1988. The infrastructure of Igora Drive allows racing of the leading international and Russian series. In 2020, the Complex has already hosted the stage of the Baja World Cup (cross country rally), the Russian series of circuit races. A stage of the Russian Drift Series is scheduled for the end of August this year.
Not only professional racers can take advantage of all the Igora Drive features. The complex is a center of active leisure for a mass audience, as well as a platform for the development of automotive culture and safety in Russia.
One of the main goals of creating the Igora Drive Complex is to attract a youth audience, form a fashion for sports and an active form of leisure. For young people, the Igora Drive Complex has developed several training programs on karting, motocross, and the Safety Drive Center tracks.
